Text Box: This message is to remind everyone that we will be having a congregational meeting this Sunday August 3rd at 12:00 Noon in the Sanctuary. The purpose of the meeting will be to elect a Pastoral Nominating Committee (PNC). We will also elect a separate committee for nominating three elders and one trustee. Please be in prayer over these matters as both of these are very important committees for our church. Please remember that it is appropriate to discuss any nominations with the person prior to the meeting. Please have their consent concerning the nomination.   In order to have a congregational meeting the Presbyterian Book of Order has rules concerning who can moderate the meeting. When a church is with out a pastor presbytery appoints a moderator of session. Rev. Allan Trafford of First Presbyterian Lake Jackson is our appointed moderator of session. The book of order states that the appointed moderator of session shall conduct congregational meetings. So, Rev Trafford will be moderator of our congregational meeting. Rev Trafford will need time to get from Lake Jackson over to GPPC. We expect he will not be to GPPC until about 12:30 pm. We plan to go ahead and start the congregational meeting at 12:00 noon but not start the business portion of the meeting until Rev Trafford arrives. During this time a report of the recent SPARKS mission trip to Arkansas will be given to the congregation. We have lots of pictures and stories to share and we think everyone will be interested in this report.     We look forward to seeing you this Sunday.   Kevin Coulter Clerk Of Session
