'Serving Christ by inviting, teaching,
and discipling those within, to serve those without'
The photographs
below are of the first church building in 1890. It was built on the
location of the Peach
Point
Cemetery
at the plantation of the same name. It was started by Mrs. Emily Austin
Bryan Perry, the sister of Stephen Fuller Austin.

Below are photographs of the
second building constructed in 1910 after the original
was destroyed
by the Gulf hurricane of 1909. The building was constructed by the
local
community. Mrs. Katie Perry led the way in raising funds
to buy the
materials for the building.
The building on the below right was
the second building after almost 20 years of disrepair. The church
was used only
part time, generally when someone's remains were brought back for burial.
The building
on the left is the present day building. Behind the grave markers
is the old
building ready to be moved. It was sold and taken to the Durazno
Plantation, were
it still
stands today.
